Recover Quicker and Perform Better with PowerDot

It has been a whirlwind of a month for humanity. Going from our busy lives to drastically slowing down and spending more time at home has been both a welcome, and, obviously, unexpected change.

During this time, I shifted from working out at my gym to running outside and using a home fitness program where I can can do boxing, barre, yoga, HIIT, and more pretty much whenever I want to. Fitness and exercise are very important to me and I’ve been thrilled by how easy, flexible and accessible these online programs have been to ensure that I work out regularly while being home.

However, the daily workouts do take a toll on the body, For some much-needed relief and assistance with muscle recovery, I have been using PowerDot Duo, a pain-free, muscle recovery and performance tool that uses NeuroMuscular Electrical Stimulation (slow-twitch), causing muscles fibers to contract.  According to PowerDot, “muscle fibers are able to contract, thus increasing the blood flow and nutrient distribution to recruit more muscle fibers, which helps the body recover faster, perform better, and reduces the risk of muscular injuries.”

How it works is simple: The Smart Muscle Stimulator (a small red disc) connects to an app (via Bluetooth) that works to deliver electrical impulses to promote muscle contractions. This can work to help improve muscle recovery, performance, pain relief and injury prevention, to name a few programs.

After you connect the app to the PowerDot (via Bluetooth), you then attach the Smart Muscle Stimulator and electrode pads (warning: they are very sticky) and then navigate throughout the app to find a program that is specific for your performance and recovery regime (there are 12+ programs that you can try). These customizable workouts are organized in the categories of Performance, Wellness, TENS (for pain relief), and Focus On where you can pick an area to target (ankle, calf, foot, knee, lower back, lower back, neck, etc) with a focus on aiding in your specific recovery, endurance, and pain relief needs.

The pain relief section was super detailed where you can better understand the level of your pain, along with a pain level chart that the app then creates for a customizable program.

For the massages/muscle stimulation programs, the app allows you to control the level of stimulation, depending on your needs. The massages/stimulations are also time controlled (via the app) so you don’t have to worry about it until after the program is over. You can then see a record of your activities, which measures the intensity, muscle groups worked and number of activities.

Great for all fitness levels, PowerDot is a great addition to your fitness regime that can work to aid with your warm ups as well as aid in your recovery, strength, speed, and endurance.  With us all being home, it is an easy tool to add to your wellness regime that delivers safe and effective results that can be used anytime and even during any other activity, so you lessen the days you have to recover.
