Appetit Bistro, the popular Port Chester French bistro recently opened their second location right in the heart of South Norwalk at 136 Washington Street featuring their signature dishes in a cozy, welcoming setting.
The new location also boosts open seating, newly restored exposed brick walls, and vibrant paintings by their long-time customer that makes you feel as if you are looking out a Parisian window. There is also a cozy private dining area and a seated bar where you can enjoy their new Happy Hour from every Monday-Friday from 4-6pm, featuring a special food and drink menu.
During a recent visit, I enjoyed some incredible dishes featuring restaurateur Edwin Montoya’s interpretation of French cuisine such as Salade Lyonnaise with frisée, bacon, and a soft poached egg dressed with sherry vin, Saumon Esossais Grille with black lentils, brussels sprouts, leeks, carrots, and a devil Sauce, Linguine with Fruits of Mer featuring shrimp, mussels, clams, chili flakes, and white wine butter sauce, a Lemon Sole with a caper-brown butter sauce, and the most incredible Steak Frites with a flavorful peppercorn sauce, to name a few favorites.
The evening wound down with desserts of Crème Brûlée and Banana Beignets that are a must-try, along with a coffee or night cap.
In addition to the new restaurant, owner and restaurateur Edwin Montoya and Chef Carias will be opening a seafood/prepared food market with fresh fish, produce, pasta, meat, and dishes to-go will be the focus, in addition to specialty food products and baked goods. The market will be open at 132C Washington Street in Spring 2022.
Rich, flavorful, and memoriable, Appetit Bistro is an incredible restaurant that you’ll savor every bite.
