Christmas isn’t typically known as a season of mystery but that all changes as audience members are taken on the mysterious ride of “A Sherlock Carol.” Fusing classic characters of Sherlock Holmes and Ebenezer Scrooge, the pairing brings a fun holiday mashup as Holmes wrestles with his past while also trying to solve a the crime of Scrooge’s death the present.
Told through the talented cast who takes on multiple roles (and various English accents!) as the audience members follow Holmes and his clues to reveal the murderer.
The role of Sherlock Holmes was masterfully played by Drew McVety, who tapped into his like Scrooge demeanour, rejecting the joy and singing of the holidays and a dinner from Watson (brilliantly played by Mark Price) while also battling parts of his past. In contrast, Scrooge (played by Thom Sesma) exuded joy as we saw more of the person he become at the end of “A Christmas Carol.” He was now guide Holmes, helping him see who he could be.
A different but widely fun holiday show, “A Sherlock Carol” combines mystery, intrigue, and energy, retelling the meaning of Christmas in a refreshing and new way.
