While the Go City Card is awesome if you are a visiting NYC,  the IDNYC  New York City’s municipal identification card program, is is an incredible way to visit many museums and cultural institutions for free! Plus, you can also get discounts to entertainment, gyms, and use it as your library card. Check out more ways to get this card below:

How to Get the IDNYC

There are a few ways you get score the IDNYC in NYC this summer. The first way is at the 14th Street Y where they will host an Open House with the Mayor’s Office of Immigrant Affairs.  Held on Saturday, August 6, 2016 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., you can enroll for your IDNYC card while meeting people in the community and local businesses including Jolt Coffee App, and the Green Mountain Farm CSA.  In addition, representatives from the Mayor’s Office of Immigrant Affairs (MOIA) will be on site to offer information about city services. Plus, you can learn more about the 14th Street Y and its programs for kids of all ages; from fitness classes to parenting classes, theater shows to rooftop events-there is something for everyone!

You can also register from August 2 through August 13 (Tuesday-Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.), at the 14th Street Y.

The third way is to to make an appointment. Simply visit or call 311 and say “IDNYC” and you’ll be set to get special discounts and benefits, including one-year free memberships to 40 cultural institutions across the City, including Carnegie Hall, the Public Theatre, and the Museum of Chinese in America. IDNYC also offers cardholders discounts on groceries, medicine, entertainment deals, and health and fitness centers.
