Understanding business and entrepreneurship is so important for kids. New mom, Leslie Feinzaig, also passionately believes this as she started Venture Kits “literally working out of my basement while my 6-month old naps.” She noted, ” this started out of a belief that all kids should experience entrepreneurship.”
With a mantra like “kids have incredible potential,” I was immediately struck my the positive and focused mission of Venture Kits that I recently had the chance to try them out with my 9-year-old. As a part of her initial launch, Feinzaig created, Treats To-Go, Venture Kits’ first limited-edition product. Enclosed in a brown box with positive messaging, the kit includes everything that kids need in order to plan, execute and create a real baking business.
Designed for kids 10+, the kits include some incredible learning tools for young entrepreneurs such a very detailed step-by-step plan that allows kids to track their selling progress, delicious recipe cards, including how to calculate costs, bags for recipes, order forms, menus, and more! Through this simple kit, kids will develop money management skills, cooking, communication, creativity, problem-solving, confidence and more. Personally, I loved how detailed the kits were that provide kids will of the tools that they need to kick-off their own baking business. From the recipes to the bags, Venture Kits is an awesome way to learn valuable skills that kids will find incredibly fun and engaging. With more kits arriving soon, Venture Kits provides kids with the opportunities to develop skills to become successful entrepreneurs.

Weekend Jaunts: How did the idea for Venture Kits come about?
Venture Kits: The inspiration for Venture Kits was my daughter. I pictured her getting a letter one day that said “Congratulations! You are now the CEO of your own company”. So I decided to build her a toy that starts with those exact words.
Weekend Jaunts: What age are the kits targeted to? It depends on the kit!
Venture Kits: Treats To-Go is labelled for kids 10+ because it requires third grade math level. But younger kids can also play if they get help from mom and dad. Our upcoming kit is an Art Auction and it’s great for kids 7-11.
Weekend Jaunts: Why is entrepreneurship important for kids?
Venture Kits: As an entrepreneur and a parent, I realized that the skills I use every day while working on my business are the same ones that I want my daughter to develop. Skills like grit, initiative, problem solving and creativity, courage and resilience after failure. These are skills that will be important for tomorrow’s job market no matter what kind of job or career she decides to pursue. I know first hand that nothing teaches you these lessons like entrepreneurship does.

Venture Kits: I believe that all kids should experience entrepreneurship, so that all kids have a more equal chance to become tomorrow’s leaders.
Weekend Jaunts: What are some resources that you provide kids as they use Venture Kits?
Venture Kits: Kits come with a step by step guide that helps them launch their business in simple, achievable steps. We wrote this guide and had it reviewed by teachers and tested by real kids!
