Story Behind the Apeloig Collection
Driven by their desire to find Judaica products that worked with elegant, minimalistic designs that they love, but unable to find exactly what they were looking for, they created Apeloig Collection in 2014. Named after their beloved grandfather who did not have grandsons to carry on their family name, the Apeloig Collection serves as a living memory for their family and all generations.
Made entirely of acrylic, beautifully packaged, and available in 14 colors and three sizes, the sleek and colorful handcrafted mezuzah scroll is housed inside and always visible as they create the illusion that the scroll is floating on the doorframe. This is a wonderful offering for contemporary families who also want to include spirituality into their homes in a modern way.
The success of the mezuzah collection and enthusiasm from customers lead to the creation of a unique line of challah breadboards, currently funded on KickStarter. To create these challah breadboards, the team spent more than a year designing the board, and used multiple rounds of testing in local focus groups to finalize the design. They partnered with expert industrial designers and artisans to deliver a premium quality product. Five different prototypes were put through multiple tests with the end user in mind before selecting the final designs. For each Apeloig Collection challah board sold, a set of challahs will be provided to a family in need on Shabbat. The program has supported dozens of families and it is their mission to continually expand the program across the country.
