It’s all about life online these days, so we’re always looking for new and engaging activities that don’t always involve a screen. Enter I am a Chef Too, a curated box of activities that encourages kids to discover and learn more about food, STEM, and the arts.
We had the opportunity to test out the Conversation Hearts Pop Tarts kit, a box bursting with an activity, a recipe, and a craft to get us ready for Valentine’s Day.
We started with the recipe where we made heart-shaped pop tarts, bursting with raspberry jam and topped with sprinkles. The kit included a recipe card, which clearly outlined every step of the process and pre-measured ingredients (we only had to supplement with some milk and eggs). We had a lot of fun making the dough and constructing the hearts and then decorating them using their frosting and some of our own sprinkles. It was fluffy, buttery, and amazing! The kids loved this recipe, and are so excited to try it out again.
We then made Valentine’s Day cards using their guidelines on how to make teddy bear and learned how to create secret messages using jelly marbles.
All of the activities were super engaging, fun, and inspiring as the kids were able to create and discover — all while enjoying an education and edible adventure.
In addition to the Valentine’s Day box, they have tons of other engaging kids like the Cocoa Bombs kit, an Edible Dinosaur Kit, and Canvas Cookies and Paint kit, to name a few options.
