Day Trip to Canupus Beach

This summer has been all about the day trip. This has included discovering lots of fun places that are around 30 minutes to an hour away. Last week, we added a trip to Canupus Beach to that list for a day of swimming and sand play.

After our 40-minute drive, we arrived at the beach complex. Parking was $8 for the day and a very short walk from the lot to the beach area. Along the way, we saw that the grounds had a bathroom, changing station, a concession stand and picnic tables. Masks had to be worn at all times as we walked our way down to the beach area.

We went later in the day (at around 2pm) and it wasn’t too crowded. After we found an area for our chairs and towels, the girls quickly went in the lake and started swimming.

There was also a nearby fishing dock and more picnic tables/BBQs that were filled up during our visit. In-between swimming, the girls loved playing in the soft sand and snacking with a cool view of the lake and trees. It was beautiful, peaceful and just what we needed.

The lake closes at 6pm, so we stayed until around 5pm and had the best time soaking in the views, swimming and discovering a new day trip option that wasn’t that far away.
