Travel Idea: Wintertime at The Greenbrier

We are so excited about our next road trip in a few weeks where we’ll be visiting The Greenbrier to check out their Wintertime at The Greenbrier activities. Hosted every weekend from January 5th through March 18th, this will include tons of cool indoor and outdoor adventures, mingled with seasonal foods, wines and entertainment.

Nestled in the breathtaking Allegheny Mountains in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia, The Greenbrier, also known as “America’s Resort” since 1778, has hosted 26 U.S. Presidents and international celebrities and is know for its authentic Southern hospitality and grand scale architecture such as the iconic Dorothy Draper interiors surrounded by the mesmerizing vistas of the lush 11,000-acres.

At the Wintertime at The Greenbrier, guests can enjoy unique amenities like ice skating at their on-site arena, staying warm at their rink-side fire pits, outdoor, horse-drawn sleigh rides transport blanket-wrapped guests through the storied grounds and the opportunity to sip specialty seasonal cocktails around their historic fireplaces.

Additionally, the miles of mountain trails are great for nature hikes, off-road ATV excursions, skiing at Winterplace Ski Resort and more. To beat the chill, guests can also enjoy indoor activities like an indoor pool, bowling, laser tag, bingo, a giant toy store and free Adventure Zone for kids, Cold War-era Bunker and history tours, boutique shopping and the new Reel Escape Room where guests can solve a series of puzzles and clues in a movie-themed environment.

During the evening, guests can enjoy live performances featuring ventriloquists, comedians and magicians, as well as a nightly Champagne waltz in the resort’s private Casino Club. There are also 20 on-site restaurants and lounges (both fine to casual), including their new Café Carleton featuring high-end and top-shelf wines and spirits accompanied with live piano music and show tunes.
