Baking Fun for Kids with Foodstirs Junk-Free Baking Kits

There has been a whole lot of baking going on these past few weeks. With the shift in our everyday life, baking and cooking has been a great way to de-stress and break free from the new world of homeschooling, the news, and, really, everything that’s been bombarding my mind and just focus on the simplicity of using our hands and creating. However, I’m the first to admit it: I’m not the best baker so I was thrilled when we had the chance to test out some of the junk-free baking kits from Foodstirs, including a cupcake kit and granola bars.

With a mission to bring families together to create delicious, lasting memories through our organic, ethically sourced baking mixes and treats, their line includes a yummy selection of childhood favorites for the modern day sweet tooth – and spark plenty of joy in the process. This includes products that are organic, non-GMO, contain a lower sugar count and purposeful ingredients.

For our baking experience, we tried out their Polar Bears Cupcake Kit. The kit came with all of the drying ingredients that we needed to get started (Organic Ultimate Chocolate Cake Mix, Organic Vanilla Frosting Mix, Chocolate Chip Packet, Confetti Sprinkles Packet, Diamond Sugar Packet, Foodstirs Cupcake Molds, and a Piping Bag) as well as clear, step-by-step instructions and a fun facts about polar bears sheet. All we had to use from home was eggs, oil, water, butter and greek yogurt.

Following the colorful instructions, the kids and I worked together to mix, pour, and stir, creating delicious cupcakes. While it was cooking, we made the frosting and added it to the piping bag. After the cupcakes cooled, we decorated them into polar bears using the frosting, sprinkles, chocolate chips and sugar packet and created bear-like creatures. The kids loved making their very own mini-masterpieces, and, of course, devouring them quickly afterwards.

We also tested out their Organic Chewy Oat Bar Mix that included dry mix. All we need was oil and water. We then mixed it up and I baked it and within 20 minutes we had granola bars. I cut them up into rectangles and packed them away for the rest of the week.

In addition to these options, they also have their bakers’ club kits, a full product line, and some inspiring recipes that you can try at home.

The whole process was fun, engaging, and easy. I loved how everything was organized and pre-measured. The experience was also a great way to work together and relieve some stress!
