We just finished up week 2 of #CampWarnerBros week with an engaging science/candy experiment and viewing of Steven Universe: The Movie!
To celebrate, we made Steven Universe’s “Crystal Gem” Candy recipe (see below).
The experiment requires a lot of patience and adult supervision as it involves hot water. There’s also some cool science behind the fun as you and your kids can watch the water evaporate from the solution as it becomes more saturated with sugar. This eventually collects on the string as the crystals grow, forming a colorful collection of rock candies.
During the week, the kids also watched Steven Universe: The Movie! The fun musical follows Steven and the Gems through some new adventures as the audience is taken on a ride of adventure and music featuring a collection of lively and upbeat songs. Super engaging, we highly recommend this new movie that’s relatable, entertaining and interesting.
