We are so excited about the fun family event coming to NYC with the 23rd annual CMA Family Day and 2nd annual CMA Kids Fair . Held on Sunday, May 21, 2017, the event will allow young artists to have the chance to make art alongside renowned artists in a variety of workshops drawing from the artists’ studio practice in mediums including fine arts, animation, photography, graphic design, sculpture and more.
CMA Family Day will take place at the museum from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., will feature delicious food and drinks provided by local businesses and an auction benefiting CMA’s community programs. Visitors will have the opportunity to bid on unique art experiences, such as private museum tours, gallery visits, and more. Online bidding runs May 8th through May 20, 2017, on BiddingforGood, and then transfers to the on-site silent auction for in-person bidding at the event.
Participating artists include: Susan Beallor-Snyder, Laura Baran, Thomas Broadbent, Michael De Feo, Todd DiCiurcio, Sandy Gellis, David Goodman, Michael Kagan, Erin Ko, Yung Oh Le Page, Brady Legler, and Michael Scoggins. Families can also sing along during music time and immerse themselves in story time with Carlos Aponte, author of A Season to Bee, and other celebrity guests.
On the same day, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., CMA will host its second annual Kids Fair on Charlton Street between Hudson and Greenwich Streets. The fair is free and open to the public. Families from around the city can make art outdoors and enjoy a fun shopping experience filled with unique and family-oriented artisanal products from trendy, local vendors.
The CMA Kids Fair aims to bring together the surrounding residential and business communities of New York City in a fun and creative public event designed specifically for children and their families. The fair will feature collaborative art projects led by CMA’s professional Teaching Artists, including: Collaborative String Sculpture, Mini Golf of Fragility, Flubber Exploration, Fort Building, interactive performances, and more fun activities for the whole family to enjoy.
