Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy is taking female representation to the next level this summer with the announcement of SHE TALKS, putting leading women in the fields of media, the arts and politics center stage as part of its outdoor cinema series, Movies With A View. In this new talk series, women share their perspectives on their fields and New York City.
The launch of SHE TALKS comes just weeks after the park announced that, for the first time in 19 years, only films directed by women will be shown under the theme SHE DIRECTS. In addition, music sets will spotlight women DJs under the moniker SHE SPINS. SHE TALKS will take place before a number of the series’ movie screenings throughout the summer, and will enrich the audience’s experience by further celebrating women’s voices.
The full SHE TALKS schedule will be announced soon but highlights include:
- Alicia Glen – Deputy Mayor for Housing & Economic Development and creator of new initiative, Women.NYC
- Comedy set with female comedian, in partnership with IFC
- “Not All HERoes Wear Capes” presented by The Wing
- “#BallIsLife” A Conversation with Elle Clay of Sports Bra podcast presented by The Wing

Movies With A View’s SHE TALKS, SHE DIRECTS and SHE SPINS will begin on Thursday, July 12. Food offerings from Smorgasburg, and pre-show music start at 6:00 PM each evening.
