I love checking out shows with my kids and post-holiday there’s an exciting concert that you’ve got to add to your agenda with the Mil’s Trills Annual Winter Bash. Having seen this show in the past, it’s a definite must-see for families and kids of all ages.
Held on Jan 29th, 2017 at 10am at ShapeShifter Lab in Gowanus, Mil’s Trills will be celebrates its 7th year of creating positive inspirational music experiences for families throughout Brooklyn and beyond.
The 2017 Winter Bash will celebrate Mil’s Trills’ seventh birthday by premiering new material that continues to support their mission of togetherness through open minds and compassionate hearts. Included is the premiere of their latest music video “Say Hey!” off their latest release, “Now That We’re Friends…” featuring Mil’s Trills fans encountering a plethora of new friends on the streets of Brooklyn. A live cross-arts experience, fans can also expect to create a community mural where they can paint, draw, and collage while the music is playing. Mil’s Trills will be joined by a full band plus special guests such as fellow Brooklyn kids musician Katie Ha Ha Ha.
As a special addition this year, Mil’s Trills has extended an open call to young instrumentalists to join the band and perform alongside musicians. Those interested will be invited to work privately with band leader, Amelia Robinson, ahead of time to learn new repertoire as part of a pre-show workshop that will meet four times in January in Brooklyn. Interested parties are required to register by emailing [email protected] by December 15th. How cool is that?!
Additionally, lead singer, Amelia Robinson, will encourage audience members to embrace differences in one another and come together as a unified global community via creative movement, positive messaging, and audience integration. Amelia, her ukulele, and her rockin’ band will take kids, parents, caregivers, aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents, neighbors and friends on a rhythmic expedition of music from around the world: urban funk, blues, reggae, calypso, and more.
