I’m not one of those people that doesn’t let their kids watch TV. Well, I had that idea floating around my head when I had one kid, but now that they’re three of them, all of those ideals or ridiculous internal standards, don’t exist. And, really, with some awesome programming out there, like shows on PBS KIDS, I really feel confident that my kids are watching educational programming that won’t ruin them forever.
With many families forgoing traditional TV for streaming (us included), it was exciting to learn that Amazon Prime Members can now add even more PBS KIDS shows to their Prime Membership for just $4.99 a month – including more than 1,600 episodes of children’s programming- through Amazon Channels.
To kick-off this exciting news, my daughters and I attended a really fun kick-off event with Amazon Channel and PBS KIDS where we enjoyed a packed afternoon of treats, face painting, arts and crafts, bowling, and the unique opportunity to meet some of our favorite PBS KIDS characters.
Other than the incredible candy bar (like, whoa!), they loved the chance to see some of their favorite PBS Kids characters, like Daniel Tiger. After the pictures, we took pics in a photo booth, played endless rounds of skee ball and admired the huge tank at the Dream Midtown hotel. In-between some serious playing, I learned more about the partnership where families will be able to receive some incredible educational content that supports social-emotional development and literacy skills, as well as science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) skills. Kickstart your children’s learning at home with fun, educational shows like the Wild Kratts, Ready Jet Go! and Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood. Additionally, Prime Members can access tons of popular kids subscriptions and content from Ameba, HooplaKidz, Nursery Rhymes Club and All Babies Channel through Amazon Channels.
