Exciting news from the Bronx Zoo: you can now experience an aerial adventure course and a zipline through their brand new program, Bronx Zoo Treetop Adventure! Open now, these experiences include aerial climbing with seven ropes courses of varying skill levels, and a zipline that runs more than 400 feet across the Bronx River and back – 50 feet above the water. Zipline and Climb via the Bronx Zoo Treetop Adventure
Experience #1 – Climb
Bronx Zoo Treetop Adventure will provide visitors with a new perspective of the Bronx River and surrounding forest. The aerial adventure courses consist of climbing elements set in the forest canopy.
The courses are of varying degrees of difficulty, and consist of challenge obstacles including rope bridges, wobbly bridges, tight rope walks, ladders, rolling and swinging elements, ziplines, and more.
There are 7 aerial courses color coded by skill level:
2 Beginner (yellow); 2 Intermediate (green); 2 Advanced (blue) 1 Expert (black)
Each course has 8 -12 elements/skill challenges. Expert-level participants can face the extreme test of the jump descender at course-end.
A climb ticket is for 2 hours, and provides instruction and training time as well as access to the aerial adventure courses.
Experience #2 – Zipline
For the zipline experience, you’ll get to zip 400 feet across the Bronx River and back – 50 feet above the water. This includes side-by-side lines that you can zip back and forth along for some incredible views!
Bronx Zoo Treetop Adventure participants must be: age 7 and up; between 50 and 275 lbs; able to reach 5’6” from flat feet.

Tickets are sold by time/appointment and requires a separate ticket from the zoo experience or WCS Membership.

Bronx River Entrance to the Bronx Zoo, accessible from Exit 6 off the Bronx River Parkway, or from the Pelham Parkway subway station.
Bronx Zoo Treetop Adventure is a year-round experience (weather permitting).

I am always looking for somewhere to take my kiddies for the summer. This looks like so much fun and something I would enjoy. I am not an outdoorsy (is that even a word??) person normally, but I would certainly leave my house for this. I love this Bronz zoo; I haven’t been since my son was four and he is sixteen now. This will be worth the visit. Thanks for sharing.
